On the 3rd December 2012, Disabled People’s Association’s (DPA) celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and its recent move to Jurong Point Shopping Centre with an open day at its new premises. The open day was open to all DPA members, friends and interested parties. Throughout the afternoon there were presentations by the Executive Director, Dr Marissa Medjeral, on the recent achievements of and future plans for the DPA, an inspirational speech by DPA Board Member, Mr Paul Yuen Kai Seng, and videos on international disability issues. DPA members and guests were treated to refreshments and given the chance to explore the new DPA office, which is not only a model of accessibility, but also designed to be a place where people with or without disabilities are encouraged to visit, socialise and debate all things disability-related.
