Familiarisation session @ DownTown Line 2 MRT Station

On 28 December 2015, the Disabled People’s Association (DPA) attended a familiarisation session around DownTown Line 2 MRT station. The session was organised by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to get persons with disabilities familiar with the barrier-free accessibility features. A total of 20 people, including DPA staff, members, and a volunteer, were treated to a guided tour around the station. Afterwards, DPA members gave feedback on how the station could improve their facilities for those with disabilities. DPA was glad that LTA invited us to this familiarisation session, and hopes that our feedback will provide LTA with a better understanding of the experiences of commuters with disabilities. DPA also hope that LTA will adopt our recommendations and work towards improving accessibility to public transport.
