It was a hot June day but the assembly of pupils sitting on the school grounds didn’t mind the scorching heat. They eagerly awaited their gracious benefactors who promised to come bearing gifts-their school personal computers.
As soon as they heard their traditional Malay music burst, they readied themselves and held their little flowers to welcome three of their benefactors from various voluntary welfare organisations:Mr Yeoh Seng Eng (Care Channels International Ltd), Mr Chang Teck Nee and Mr Henry Hoe (PPHBC Youth). Through this project, DPA had become a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher allowing it to purchase the Windows OS and the MS Office 2003 from Microsoft at a discounted price and install it in the refurbished PCs. On 30 April 2008, Mr Chang and Mr Hoe came to DPA and explained about their project and asked for help in refurbishing 60 PCs. DPA accepted the opportunity and reached out to the hearts of people who were willing to give some of their time to volunteer and help work on the PCs.
